IP Telephony

Network-based telephony using VoIP voice over Internet Protocol (IP) is where the future of telephony lies. IP systems, offered by both Axxess and ESI, are advanced, network-based business phone systems that combine the best of both the telephony and data worlds. Voice is delivered via the existing local area network/wide area network (LAN/WAN) to the desktop.

Overview

  • Ultra-high-speed packetized voice communication — IP telephony systems can work with either 10Base-T or the much faster 100Base-T, or in a combined 10/100Base-T network.
  • Scalability — The systems can grow from up to 30 central office (CO) lines supporting up to 58 total ports, to a fully loaded IP 200 system with up to 66 CO lines supporting up to 192 total ports.
  • Powerful voice mail capabilities — Integrated voice mail systems can feature 16 always-available channels.
  • Extensive phone options — These include: IP Feature Phone; Remote IP Remote Phone; and standard analog sets.
  • Advanced phone features — Some examples include Caller ID, live call recording and screening, ACD, speed-dialing, built-in message-on-hold, and Verbal User Guide™.
  • Multi-site support — Multiple systems can be interconnected across an enterprise's dedicated WAN, creating virtually seamless connectivity among multiple offices. Systems can operate distant extensions as though they were local, providing one-button dialing, simplified call transfer, conference calling, and message sharing.
  • Remote Feature Phone capability — With the rapid growth of DSL and other broadband services, fully functional Remote IP Feature Phones can be deployed to small remote locations such as local sub-offices or teleworkers' desktops at home.

ESI Communications Servers

ESI-1000  •  ESI-600  •  ESI-200  •  ESI-100  •  ESI-50  •  ESI-50L

Regardless of which model you select (they vary primarily by call-handling and voice message storage capacity), an ESI Communications Server will serve your needs now and for years to come. This fully flexible communications platform can support both digital telephony and IP-to-the-desktop in any desired combination. ESI Communications Servers also deliver massive expandability and the greatest functionality ESI has ever offered.
An ESI Communications Server is a powerful tool around which you can build your organization’s entire telecommunications strategy — and you don’t have to know it all in advance.
That’s because an ESI Communications Server — the ESI-1000, the ESI-600, the ESI-200, the ESI-100, or the ESI-50L — can be a traditional digital business phone system, a fully standards-based IP telephony system, or any mix of the two. The choice is entirely yours, and the mix can easily change when your needs do.

Powerful — but friendly

Despite its long list of features, an ESI Communications Server — thanks to famous ESI ease-of-use — is a phone system you’ll find friendly. It says, “Good morning.” It teaches you how to use and program it. It reminds you to change your personal greeting after a trip. And it stands by, ready to assist you whenever you need help. There are several different models of ESI desktop Feature Phones. Each is a compact, attractive addition to any desk, designed to simplify your telecommunications. Here are just two examples:

  • The display is large and easy to read; that's even more true for a backlit display, which is available on certain models.

  • The dedicated function keys (so you don’t have to memorize codes) give you more ease of use, even with an ESI Communications Server’s enhanced capabilities.

On the go?

If you’re frequently on the move throughout your workplace, an ESI Cordless Handset II is the easiest way to stay in touch with other system extensions, not to mention your voice mail. The ESI-exclusive Quick Switch feature makes it easy to go from desktop extension to the Cordless Handset II at a moment’s notice; just press a key. Or, if you’re “tied” to your cell phone, ESI Cellular Management — part of ESI Bluetooth Voice Integration — simplifies your communications through the power of fixed/mobile convergence.

Easy to choose; easy to use

Regardless of the model you choose, any ESI Communications Server is an easy choice over other business communications systems. Its ease of use and feature-richness reduce staff frustrations, increases productivity, and enhances your corporate image. And each ESI Communications Server’s unique integration provides call-processing efficiency and cost savings that previously were impossible.

VIP

VIP and VIP Professional  •  VIP PC Attendant Console  •  VIP ACD  •  VIP Softphone

The name VIP means Visually Integrated Phone. It works within Microsoft® Outlook® to help you manage your ESI voice mail and contacts from your PC. VIP Professional adds still more features, such as auto-recording2, text-messaging, and color-coded monitoring of station status.
Be sure also to check out our other VIP Professional-compatible applications:  VIP PC Attendant Console, which greatly simplifies managing any busy office’s call traffic; VIP ACD, to maximize your customer service when used with ACD-equipped ESI phone systems; and VIP Softphone1, which allows you to connect with your ESI Communications Server from a PC via nearly any broadband connection.
All of ESI’s VIP PC applications let you combine the power of your ESI phone system and Microsoft Outlook to enhance communication in your day-to-day activities — including the ability to control calls and organize voice mail and contacts.
VIP (Visually Integrated Phone) comes in two “flavors”: the basic VIP and VIP Professional. Each configuration is licensed independently, with easy migration from VIP to VIP Professional. Each lets you intelligently do the following from your PC’s screen:

  • Manage your telephone calls
  • Manage your voice mail
  • Organize your contacts
  • Log all your inbound and outbound calls
  • Quickly program your ESI Feature Phone

With VIP Professional, you also get:

  • Enhanced, more informative user interface
  • Secure text-messaging
  • Auto-recording capability3
  • Compatibility with VIP PC Attendant Console, VIP ACD, and VIP Softphone

And, speaking of those other three products . . .
These independently licensed members of the VIP product family, all compatible with VIP Professional, add their own specific capabilities (click their links for more information):

  • VIP PC Attendant Console — Makes it easier for even the busiest attendant to handle call traffic efficiently.
  • VIP ACD1 — Helps you improve the quality of your customer service when used with ESI systems with their built-in ACD (automatic call distribution).
  • VIP Softphone1 — Lets you use your PC to connect to your ESI Communications Server from nearly any location with a broadband connection.

Regardless of your selected configuration, VIP is easy to implement. It connects to your existing local area network (LAN) and is non-invasive. There’s no need to upgrade the LAN or install Microsoft Exchange® — thus avoiding a costly and impractical solution for the small to mid-size business. (VIP is Vista®-compatible4 and requires Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2002, 2003, or 2007.)
